Watch this video, its from a Liverpool Game in England, which also happens to be my favorite my favorite Football(Soccer) Club. The song they are singing has been sung for more than 40 years. The song is by Gerry Marsden and the Pacemakers, and is called You Will Never Walk Alone. It is played before the start every Liverpool home game, and is one of the most recognizable songs in european football. It has been covered by Elvis Presely and other artists. The lyrics to this song are as follows:
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
This song has gotten me through many rough times in my life, and the passion that is shared by these fans in these videos, is a passion that i wish i could see in my church on sunday. 45000 people willing to raise their hands, and "worship" their team without any shame. Its incredible, ive watched many a game of liverpool, and i still get goosebumps, and regularly find myself singing with the legions of fans while i sit on my couch and watch.
