Well we beat Arsenal on saturday handly, with three goals by Crouchinho, here they are:
1st
2nd
3rd
And the week got better yesterday with the 3-nil win over PSV away, which virtually put us (Liverpool) into the Semi-Finals of the Champions league. Highlights here:
And then the week just got even better because at half time of the Manchester United Roma game its 1-nil for Roma, and in the Chelsea game versus Valencia its 1-nil for Valencia and they have the vital away goal. Also Paul Scholes was sent off and will miss the next leg. Wow, and now the Manchester fans are back to their usual retarded selves throwing stuff at the Roma fans. The Roma "Ultras" are not people you want to be messing with. Manchester United fans are pictured throwing seats, why do these pricks even go to games, Wow. More fines headed United's way. Haha, sore losers.

UPDATE: ManGay lost, their fans are being investigate and there could be even more punishment because of what happened in France a month ago. Chelsea ended up with a draw but will need to score in Valencia to have a chance of progressing.
In other news PSV's manager has thrown in the towel for the second leg conceding victory. So the Semi-Finals should look like this, Liverpool Vs. Valencia and Bayern/Milan vs. Roma. We can now see who the best English team in Europe is.
Wouldn't the best English team in Europe be the team that has sustained continual success over a significant period of time in some sort of round robin format in which they play every team involved? Wouldn't the team that were to lead that round robin format at the end of the year be considered the best team in Europe? Especially considering that in a tournament format, so much comes down to luck of the draw. You may last longer into the tournament than another team, but having never played that team, you would have no claim as to being better than them.
Wait, there is this round robin format I was talking about...it's called the English Premiership. Oh, and look at that...it shows that the best team in England is Manchester United, followed closely by Chelsea and far away in a distant third is some team called Liverpool. :)
Ummm.... once you get down to the final 16 the teams that are left are teams that are good, for one reason or another. PSV for instance knocked out Arsenal, and Valencia knocked out Internazionale, which is the top team in Serie A, Italian league.
The European Cup has been around for more then 50 years, it showcases the best teams from Europe, and only the best survives long enough to win it. Liverpool have won it 5 times to Chelsea's 0 and Manchester's 1. So who is the better team? Liverpool by far. They can compete with the best in Europe. 3rd place doesn't do justice to them this year. But they have had a decent year on the European front. The league front will get better next year.
My question is, if you can only do good against English opponents, how good is your team really? If you cannot compete on a grander stage, then how good are you?
So what you're saying is that Liverpool is the perfect team for has-beens? I guess their past results are impressive but in the here and now they're trash. Would you say that Rome is the most powerful empire/country in the world because they at one point controlled almost all of the known world?
Have a nice day.
Jonathan
Man U 7 Roma 1
Who's the best English soccer team in Europe?????
Man U 7 Roma 1
I rest my case.
I don't see how that proves anything, a win is a win dude. 7-1 or 1-0 theres not a difference. Plus tougher opposition lies ahead for them. And since Liverpool took care of things from the get go and didn't have to leave it till the last game, they are still the best English team in Europe, past, present, and future.
7-1 isn't just a win. It's an epic curb-stomping that would reduce most men to tears. And you can't tell me Roma is just some crap team that was thrown to the wolves. They made it to the quarterfinals and were heinously outclassed by the best team in the world.
Brad
Outclassed? Yes They got beat, but 7-1 is lucky. Especially against Roma, if you call them a good team. I seem to remember you saying PSV was a bad team, but they made it to the same place. Really though all that matters is advancing, no matter how you do it. And who ever wins in the final is what matters in the end, and Man U haven't won it in a long time, almost 10 years now. And I'm not worried about them because they wont make it past Bayern or Milan. Best team in the world, not a chance, sorry.
